The First Step to a Well-Mannered Dog in Public

City Dog 1 is designed for owners who want a dog they can confidently bring to patios, shopping centers, outdoor events, dog-friendly stores, and other public spaces. This foundational course combines essential obedience skills with real-world training, helping your dog learn how to stay calm, focused, and responsive in busy environments.

Throughout the course, you and your dog will learn:

  • Loose-leash walking without pulling
  • How to get and maintain your dog's attention around distractions
  • Reliable Sit, Down, Stay, and Come commands
  • Proper greetings with people and other dogs
  • Patience and impulse control around food, doors, and exciting situations
  • Settling calmly in public places
  • Confidence and focus in busy environments with sights, sounds, and distractions
  • Polite behavior when accompanying you on everyday outings

Our goal is to help your dog develop the skills needed to become a true "City Dog"—a dog that can comfortably and confidently join you in public spaces while remaining under control and attentive to you.

This course runs for 3 consecutive weeks unless otherwise noted. If you miss a class, a make-up session can be scheduled at the cost of half of a private lesson.
