Off-Leash Freedom Through E-Collar Training
Nature Dog 2 builds on the skills learned in Nature Dog 1 and prepares you and your dog for greater off-leash freedom through e-collar conditioning. Designed for active owners who want to hike, explore, and enjoy the outdoors with their dogs, this course teaches you how to safely and effectively transfer your dog's existing obedience skills to the remote collar while building reliability around real-world distractions.
Throughout the course, you and your dog will learn:
- Proper e-collar conditioning and communication
- How to transfer leash and long-line skills to the remote collar
- Reliable recalls at greater distances
- Following and staying connected with you off-leash
- Advanced impulse control around wildlife, people, dogs, and environmental distractions
- Maintaining focus and responsiveness in stimulating outdoor settings
- Ignoring distractions and making good decisions with increased freedom
- Emergency stop and interruption skills
- Real-world off-leash handling techniques for trails and outdoor adventures
- Building confidence, reliability, and self-control in outdoor environments
By the end of the course, you'll have the tools to communicate with your dog at greater distances and help them remain responsive, attentive, and under control while enjoying the freedom of off-leash adventures.
This course runs for 4 consecutive weeks and is held at Lake Balboa Park. If you miss a class, a make-up session can be scheduled at the cost of half of a private lesson.
