City Dog 2 builds on the foundation established in New City Dog 1 and prepares your dog for success in increasingly challenging public environments. This advanced course focuses on developing the patience, impulse control, and reliability needed for your dog to become a calm, well-mannered companion wherever you go.
Throughout the course, you and your dog will work on:
- Advanced loose-leash walking in distracting environments
- Extended Sit, Down, and Stay exercises
- Reliable recalls around distractions
- Ignoring food, people, dogs, and other environmental temptations
- Calm behavior when passing other dogs and pedestrians
- Settling quietly in public spaces
- Maintaining focus in busy, high-distraction settings
- Improved impulse control and decision-making
- Real-world public access skills
- Exercises that prepare your dog for the AKC Community Canine (CGCA) test
Through structured training and real-world exposure, your dog will learn how to remain composed, attentive, and responsive even when faced with the distractions and challenges of everyday public life.
This course runs for 4 consecutive weeks unless otherwise noted. If you miss a class, a make-up session can be scheduled at the cost of half of a private lesson.
